The company unveiled a concept version of the forthcoming iX3 battery-electric crossover SUV. This also fits with Jaguar's brand director's statements that it has been considering an SUV for this class. Chinese-market volatility, the cloud around diesels, and Brexit uncertainty have contributed to a sales slump so dire that Jaguar's Castle Bromwich plant is going to a three-day week for the rest of the year. Tesla may not have made money on those cars, but the fact that a start-up manufacturer is luring paying customers out of industry-benchmark cars is noteworthy. Hard as it is 鈥?especially right now, with so few of them out in the world 鈥?we really suggest taking the chance to spend some time in one before you buy or lease. Not good, and 鈥?unlike the XE 鈥?I didn't think I could do much better without greatly altering my admittedly aggressive driving habits. Better late than never? I wish there were some more pockets and cubbies, but the small shelf in front of the shifter proved to be a good home for my phone and a couple of Honey Stinger waffles.
